    Free Google Sheets Timetable Template

Google Sheets doesn't host shareable templates without an account on our side. So we ship a clean .xlsx that drops straight into Google Sheets via Google Drive — same result, fewer logins. Or skip the spreadsheet entirely and edit online.

How to get a timetable into Google Sheets

Most 'Google Sheets timetable' templates require you to log in to a third-party site, copy a public sheet, then accept tracking. We skip that — download a plain .xlsx, drag it into Google Drive, done.

    Drop straight into Google Drive

Open Google Drive, drag the .xlsx in, double-click. Sheets opens it in editable format. No copy-template flow, no sign-in to our site.

    Real spreadsheet, not a screenshot

Native rows and columns, header row, day-of-week labels. Type into any cell. Use color fills, freeze rows, sort — full Sheets functionality.

    Share with classmates or coworkers

Once in Google Sheets, share with view or edit access. Multiple people edit together in real time. The template is the starting point.

Or edit online — skip Sheets entirely

Don't use Google? The online editor handles weekly grids, custom colors, and PDF export without any Google account.

    Sync across devices via Drive

Once in Sheets, your timetable lives on Drive. Edit on phone, tablet, laptop — same file, always current.

    Free, no sign-up, no watermark

The .xlsx is plain. No 'Made with X' rows, no signup links, no tracking. Yours to share, copy, and modify.

Why Google Sheets users want this

    Class schedule shared with classmates

Drop the .xlsx into Google Drive, share view-link with the class group chat. Everyone sees the same timetable without anyone having to install software.

Family schedule on the shared family Drive

Family Google account holders use Drive as the central hub. Drop the timetable in, family members open from any device.

    Team rota in Google Sheets

Small teams that already live in Workspace use Sheets for shift schedules. The template gives a clean starting structure.

Study plan shared with a tutor

Edit your weekly study plan in Sheets, share with your tutor or coach for feedback. Comments and suggestions work natively.

    Sheets-native automation

Power users add Apps Script, conditional formatting, or query() formulas to the imported template. The starting structure is clean enough for that.

    Workspace-only orgs

Some schools and companies block other apps but allow Google Workspace. The .xlsx → Sheets import keeps everything inside Workspace.

How to use the timetable template in Google Sheets

Three minutes from download to editable Sheets file. No sign-in to our site needed.

    1

    Click Download for Google Sheets

The 20 KB .xlsx file lands in your downloads. It's not a Google Sheets file directly — it's the universal format Sheets imports cleanly.

    2

    Open Google Drive

Go to drive.google.com (or your Workspace Drive). Drag the .xlsx into the main Drive area or any folder.

    3

Double-click to open in Google Sheets

Sheets opens it as a converted spreadsheet. Edit, share, color, sort, freeze rows — all Sheets features work.

    4

Optional — save as native Google Sheets

File → Save as Google Sheets (or just leave it as imported .xlsx). Both work fine; the native format gets revision history and Apps Script integration.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the Google Sheets timetable template free?

Yes. Free download, free to use, no sign-up. The .xlsx file works for Google Sheets, Excel, Numbers, and any other spreadsheet app.

Why a download instead of a 'Make a copy' link to a public Sheet?

Public Sheets templates require us to host a Google account, embed tracking, or capture your email. Downloading the .xlsx and dragging into your Drive gives the same result without any of that.

Will the formatting survive in Google Sheets?

Yes. Header row, day-of-week labels, column widths, and cell borders convert cleanly. Sheets handles .xlsx imports faithfully.

Can I share the imported Sheet with classmates or coworkers?

Yes. Use Sheets' Share button — view, comment, or edit access. The template becomes a real collaborative document.

Does this work in Workspace (G Suite for organisations)?

Yes. The .xlsx → Sheets flow is identical in Workspace. No external apps required, no IT approval needed.

Can I get a Google Docs version too?

Yes — see our Word timetable template. Drop the .docx into Google Drive and it converts to Google Docs.
